WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothes that you feel okay sweating in.  Please no zippers, buttons, or clasps that could catch and damage the Pilates equipment. We recommend bare feet or grip socks for class.

WILL I LOSE WEIGHT?

You will build strength and tone your muscles.  Additional muscle tissue burns more calories – even when at rest – so you will continue to burn calories at a higher rate after you have left class. Combined with a proper diet and a strong mix of classes, you can definitely lose weight.

IS PILATES FOR MEN?

Absolutely!  It was started by a fitness buff, Joseph Pilates, and it remains a great workout for men. Professional Athletes in the NHL, NFL, NBA & more have long been aware of the benefits of Pilates and we guarantee you will feel the same.. Our classes don’t have complex choreography, we keep it sporty and promise you will break a sweat.

WHAT IF I AM NEW?

If you are brand new to using Pilates equipment, we require that you participate in 2 private Pilates sessions before joining our group classes.  This policy ensures the safety and well-being of all our members. To make this requirement easy and affordable we offer the Introductory Private Special (2 private Pilates sessions for $119) to all new clients of the studio. During your private sessions you should expect to work hard and learn a great deal about the equipment and your body!

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL A CLASS?

A 12-hour cancellation notice is required for ALL group Pilates equipment classes. Clients must process their cancellation online 12 hours in advance of the class start time to avoid a late cancellation. “Late Cancel” appears when the online cancellation period has passed and your group Pilates equipment class has been forfeited. Sorry, no exceptions.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL A PRIVATE PILATES SESSION?

A 24-hour cancellation notice is required for ALL Pilates private & duet sessions.  Clients must process their cancellation by emailing info@pilatesworksnyc.com. Thank you for understanding that we must enforce this policy strictly. We provide this as a courtesy to our instructors who are compensated on a per client basis and have made a time commitment to our schedule. Sorry, no exceptions.

I ADDED MY NAME TO THE WAITLIST, HOW DO I KNOW IF I GET INTO CLASS?

The waitlist closes 12 hours before the start of class. If a spot opens in the class more than 12 hours prior to the class start time, you will receive an automatic email confirming you have been entered into the class. (*Note, once you’ve been entered into the class, the late cancel policy is now in effect). If you do not want to risk a late cancellation please make sure you remove yourself from the waitlist so you are not automatically added). If a spot opens less than 12 hours before class time, you will receive a phone call from the studio asking if you would like to join class.

HOW DO I LOGIN & CREATE A PROFILE?

By clicking “schedule” on the www.pilatesworksnyc.com website you will be directed to our MindBody Login page. From there you may create a  profile, view the schedule, make purchases, etc. If you have any questions please email info@pilatesworksnyc.com.

DO YOU HAVE AN APP?

Download the MindBody app and search for PilatesWorks. Then add us to your favorites! You may then purchase or book classes via the app. We also love that you can add appointments directly to your calendar.

WILL I GET INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION?

Yes, with only 7 students maximum in our classes, the instructors will provide personalized attention.  However, if you have special needs or injuries, then we suggest you take private Pilates sessions until you are confident modifying exercises on your own.

WHAT IF I HAVE BACK ISSUES?

Building your core strength and stability will definitely help improve back issues. Many people find Pilates is an excellent choice for preventing or managing back pain. If you have back problems we recommend a few private Pilates sessions with a trainer before joining the group equipment classes.

WHAT IF I AM LATE TO CLASS?

For your safety and as a courtesy to others our classes are closed 10 minutes after the start of class. Sorry, no exceptions.

WHAT IF MY CLASSES EXPIRE?

Use ‘em or lose ‘em. Many studios have a one or three month expiration. PilatesWorks offers a very generous one year expiration.

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

We use top-of-the-line Pilates equipment by Balanced Body  Balanced Body is one of the most respected names in the Pilates industry and we are confident you will enjoy the equipment as much as we do.
